Backlog ('cklog?)
I have several unpublished posts that I've decided were too personal, too abstruse, too idiotic or too all of the above to actually post. For now I'll say that a weird week (the posting on which is way too confessional and self-pitying ever likely to see the light of 'net) has turned into a weird month, and by some uncanny hindsight reverse-time extension, a weird two months.
But I just wanted to let y'all know that I haven't forgotten the ol' 'Bblog. I have been writing, just not publishing. And maybe some day I'll edit the stuff I have to the point where I'm not embarrassed to post it. Until then, here are some quick updates on stuff'n'such:
- My band is going on tour for a week, leaving next Friday. We'll hit such major metropolises as Holyoke, Shusan, Cleveland and Pittsburgh, as well as the sleepy village of Toronto. This may bring tales of debauchery and wanton Canadian groupies, or else tales of "so, my band broke up on the road..."
- We're going to try to record a quick/dirty tour EP tomorrow, though our first full-blown song argument may be brewing. Possibly more on later...
- The whole "where's the song of summer?" thing has become so widespread that even the NY Times has seized upon it. For ubiquity, I'm comin' 'round to "Umbrella," though I still have my doubts-- can a ballad really count as The summer jam?
- I am overcaffeinated. Two double espressos plus Martian Palmer (lemonade and iced green tea, donchyaknow) plus half each of two small cups of coffee plus REALLY bizarre evening (which I won't even try to get into) plus double Stoli plus a half-hour's meditation followed by several dozen sit-ups do NOT, apparently, equal a good night's sleep. Tomorrow should be fun fun fun...
